Within one resort, ski rental prices can differ by 10 to 20 zł a day. In Zieleniec an adult set costs 70 zł at Ski-Raft and 80 zł at VIP SKI (both 2025/26 price lists). In Białka Tatrzańska Limba charges 60 zł on its 2025/26 list and U Gąsienicy 80 zł on its 2026/27 list.

On 4 October 2026 we noted down the prices on the price lists of 11 ski rental shops in Zakopane, Białka Tatrzańska, Krynica-Zdrój, Karpacz, Zieleniec and Szklarska Poręba. We only used lists that state the season, because an undated list can be years old. Prices are in Polish złoty (zł, PLN), for one day, as the shop prints them. Each shop's name in the table links to its price list.

On every one of these lists an adult set means skis, boots and poles. The lowest price in the table is 60 zł (Limba, Szkoła Narciarstwa i Snowboardu Karpacz) and the highest is 80 zł (Nosal, U Gąsienicy, VIP SKI, and T&T for 11 hours).

A child's set is a set with shorter skis, and each price list draws its own line: up to 120 cm at Ski-Raft, up to 130 cm at Zakopane-Ski, Limba, U Gąsienicy and M&M, and up to 140 cm at T&T and SkiPoint. The line only sets the price; it is not advice on what skis a child needs. You choose the length at the shop.

The table shows each shop's basic set. Some shops also rent better gear: Jaworzyna Krynicka charges 95 zł for its TOP set, VIP SKI 140 zł and Zakopane-Ski 170 zł for a TEST set, and M&M 110 zł for its VIP set.

What the price includes and what costs extra

On all 11 price lists an adult helmet costs extra: 15 to 30 zł a day on its own. Nosal, T&T, Ski-Raft and VIP SKI charge 10 zł when you take it with a set, so ask for one when you collect the skis.

Children's sets differ. Zakopane-Ski, Limba, M&M and T&T include a helmet, Jaworzyna Krynicka charges 5 zł for it, and VIP SKI says plainly that its sets come without helmets.

Only some shops rent ski clothing. Zakopane-Ski charges 70 zł for a jacket, 70 zł for trousers and 120 zł for the pair, U Gąsienicy 35 zł each for a jacket and trousers, and Limba 60 zł a day for a ski suit.

Is a ski helmet mandatory in Poland

For children and teenagers under 16, yes: for downhill skiing and snowboarding on an organised ski area. Article 29 of Poland's act on safety in the mountains and on organised ski areas requires it, and a guardian who lets a child ride without one can be fined. Adults are not required to wear one today.

A bill that would extend the rule to everyone (Sejm print no. 2490, filed on 12 March 2026) was still waiting for its first reading in committee in early October 2026.

Is snowboard rental more expensive than skis

On 9 of the 11 price lists a snowboard with boots costs the same as a ski set. Nosal, Ski-Raft and VIP SKI have a single price for skis or a snowboard. Two shops charge more for the board: M&M in Karpacz (85 zł instead of 75 zł) and T&T in Zieleniec (5 zł a day more).

Renting skis by the hour, the day or the week

A few hours cost less than a full day. On the price lists we checked, two hours cost 40 zł (Limba, SkiPoint) to 55 zł (U Gąsienicy, M&M), and four hours 50 to 65 zł.

A "day" on a Polish price list is not always 24 hours. If you collect your gear in the afternoon, check when the shop's day ends:

  • SkiPoint counts a day from collection until 22:00 the same day.
  • Ski-Raft says a day runs from collection until 21:00 the same day or until 10:00 the next day.
  • VIP SKI rents for the whole day, until the lifts close.
  • Nosal counts 24-hour periods, with 20 minutes' grace to return the gear.
  • T&T charges for 7 or 11 hours, not for 24 hours.

For a longer trip, rent for the whole stay at once. Each day then works out cheaper, and an adult set for 6 or 7 days costs 340 to 485 zł:

Jaworzyna Krynicka

M&M, Karpacz
64 zł instead of 75 zł
320 zł for 5 days
Nosal, Zakopane

485 zł for 7 days

T&T gives 5% off for 3 or 4 days, 10% from 5 days and 15% with the Polish Large Family Card (Karta Dużej Rodziny). The discounts do not combine. At Limba in Białka the price for more than 3 days is negotiable, though not over the phone.

Low season, high season and Polish school holidays

Two shops in the table have separate low-season prices: M&M in Karpacz and T&T in Zieleniec, both run by Winterpol. Their low season lasts until 18 December 2026 and starts again on 1 March 2027. M&M then charges 50 zł instead of 75 zł for an adult set, 40 zł instead of 65 zł for a child's set and 60 zł instead of 85 zł for a snowboard. T&T gives 5% off in low season. We found no separate low-season prices on the other lists in the table.

Polish school winter holidays (ferie) in 2027 run from 18 to 31 January in Lower Silesia and from 15 to 28 February in Małopolska. Both fall within Winterpol's high season, from 19 December 2026 to 28 February 2027. You can look for rental shops in Karpacz, Zieleniec and Szklarska Poręba in Rentouri's search for Lower Silesia.

What a day of skiing costs with a lift pass

Rental is usually the smaller part of a day on the slopes. In Zieleniec, the lift pass prices and T&T's price list are both already for 2026/27. A 7-hour Zieleniec Sport Arena lift pass costs 165 zł in high season. With a 7-hour set from T&T at 75 zł, an adult's day comes to 240 zł, or 250 zł with a helmet taken with the set. In low season the same pass costs 135 zł.

Documents, deposits and your ID

Bring an identity document when you collect the gear. Nosal accepts an ID card, a passport or a driving licence, and VIP SKI says an identity document is all it needs to confirm your details. Some shops take a deposit. The shop sets the amount, so ask about it when you book or before you collect the gear.

You do not have to leave your ID or passport as security. Poland's data protection authority (UODO) has reminded shops that no one may lawfully require it. Instead, a shop may write down details from the document, such as your name, or take a deposit. Keeping someone else's Polish ID card without a legal basis is an offence.

How to pay less for ski rental

  • Rent for your whole stay at once. Each day costs less, up to 31% less at Ski-Raft.
  • Take the helmet with the set. At four shops in the table it then costs 10 zł instead of 15 to 25 zł.
  • Compare shops in the same resort. In Zieleniec an adult set costs 70 zł at Ski-Raft and 80 zł at VIP SKI.
  • Check how the price list counts a day before you collect gear in the afternoon.
  • Ski outside high season if you can. At M&M in Karpacz an adult set costs 50 zł instead of 75 zł until 18 December and from 1 March.
